WASP
WASP (Waverley Association for Special People)
The Charity is currently managed by three trustees who meet bi-annually to consider requests from the school for use of WASP funds. Requests are submitted via Waverley’s business manager.
Wasp is supported by individuals, local businesses, schools, rotary clubs, religious establishments and many other organisations. Donations and funds raised go towards additional and much needed
items for the school that government funding cannot cover.
WASP’s fundraising has led to the purchase of:
- Adapted bicycles
- Sensory room equipment
- Trampolines
- Sensory lights for the hydrotherapy pool
- School minibuses and their maintenance
- Soft furnishings
- Christmas presents for pupils
- Outdoor play equipment
- Items for school leavers’ celebration parties
- Outings
Fundraising for WASP can be done by any individual or group in several ways. This could be as part of an organised event, through a workplace, as a personal challenge such as a sponsored bicycle ride
or to mark a special occasion.
We welcome all fundraising on behalf of WASP and the pupils at Waverley School. All money donated supports the learning and wellbeing of the pupils.
